Trusting Jesus When Life Gets Hard

The author aims to invite readers into a journey of discovering Jesus more intimately and experiencing the transformative impact of that relationship in their lives.

Have you ever felt like life’s problems were just too much to handle alone? When you’re feeling unsure and scared, where do you go for help? Life can be really tough sometimes, throwing unexpected problems our way. It could be personal stuff or big global issues, and it can feel like it’s all too much. But even when everything seems scary and uncertain, there’s something that gives us hope and strength – Jesus. He’s like a bright light in the dark, a safe place to find peace when everything feels crazy.

Trusting beyond measure means having strong faith in Jesus, even when things seem tough and we feel like we’re losing hope. It’s about giving all our worries and fears to Jesus, knowing that He’s always there for us and will help us through every hard time. In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells us, “Come to me if you’re tired and carrying a heavy load, and I will give you rest.” This reminds us that we’re never alone – Jesus is always with us, ready to comfort us and give us strength whenever we need it.

Finding strength in Jesus means being humble and knowing that we need His help. It’s about admitting that we can’t do everything on our own and trusting Jesus to take care of us. The apostle Paul wrote about this in his letter to the Philippians, saying, “I can do all this because Christ gives me strength.” This means that when we’re connected to Jesus, we have access to His power, which helps us keep going even when things get tough.

Absolute confidence means getting close to Jesus and including Him in everything we do – the good times and the tough times. It’s like holding hands with Him and telling Him all our hopes and fears, knowing He’s always listening and ready to help. The Bible says, “God is close to those who are hurting and helps those who feel broken inside.” So, when we’re feeling sad or upset, we can find comfort in knowing that Jesus is right there with us, giving us peace and love.

Having complete faith does not exempt us from the trials and tribulations of life, but it infuses us with a supernatural strength and resilience that enables us to endure and overcome. It’s a journey of faith marked by firm trust and absolute confidence in the goodness and faithfulness of God. As we lean into Jesus and place our trust in Him, we discover a newfound sense of peace and peace that goes beyond our circumstances, securing our souls in the unshakable hope of His promises.

Throughout “Knowing Our Savior,”  J.V. Lewis, repeatedly emphasizes the idea that despite our limitations, Jesus wants us to know Him deeply. He explores this theme by delving into passages like John 17, where Jesus expresses His desire for believers to understand His relationship with the Father. By weaving this message throughout the book, the author aims to invite readers into a journey of discovering Jesus more intimately and experiencing the transformative impact of that relationship in their lives.
